Streamlining retail operations with Weavo

The founders of Front Systems, the fashion industry’s most widely used point-of-sale system, are launching a new company – Weavo.

The goal is to streamline multi-brand stores using automation and artificial intelligence. Fashion stores Olivias Verden and Aandahls are already seeing results – and it’s helping Texcon deliver on its member strategy.

Smarter and simpler retail operations

Haakon Skavhaug-Flender, co-founder of Front Systems and Weavo, explains: ‘Weavo digitises time-consuming processes such as registering product data, orders and replenishing stock, and connects stores and suppliers to allow more efficient operations. Weavo makes retail operations smarter and simpler. Using advanced AI technology, we automate time-consuming tasks such as registering product data, product descriptions, images and packing slips. This means that new goods are automatically categorised and integrated into the store’s existing systems – without any manual effort.

Lower costs and happier customers

Several fashion retailers have already adopted Weavo, and for stores such as Olivias Verden and Aandahls, it has become an essential part of daily operations.

Weavo ensures that products are quickly placed on shelves, while allowing staff to spend more time on customers and sales. If the store also uses e-commerce, Weavo becomes even more valuable,  automatically supplying images, GTIN codes and product descriptions directly to the online store.

‘By digitally linking stores and suppliers, Weavo creates a more efficient workflow and enhances collaboration across the value chain. The result is lower costs, fewer out-of-stock items and happier customers,’ says Haakon Skavhaug-Flender.

From stockroom to store at Olivias Verden

Jenny Ørjavik, CEO and owner of Olivias Verden, has found a smarter way to run her retail outlets. With five fashion stores, time is a scarce resource, and Weavo is now a digital assistant that simplifies daily tasks, reduces costs and increases sales.

‘Right from day one, we saved an hour per store during the many stock deliveries,’ Jenny explains. ‘That gives us more time to focus on what really matters: our customers.’

A common issue for many stores is unsold goods that remain in stock. With Weavo, Jenny and her team have a better oversight and faster flow of goods. Deliveries are automatically registered in the POS system, and we no longer need to print price labels. We can now restock while customers are in the store,’ says Jenny. ‘It means less stress for staff and better service for customers. We no longer need to restock before or after we open, we can now do it during opening hours.’

-Easy to use, huge impact

For Jenny, simplicity was crucial.

‘We’re not tech experts, but onboarding with Weavo was so simple. Everything works automatically and adapts to our existing systems,’ she explains. Even without an online store, she sees the value of Weavo, but for stores that use e-commerce, it’s simply a ‘no brainer’. ‘The system provides everything from product images to GTIN codes – essential for running an efficient online store,’ Jenny adds.

Technology that makes a difference

Weavo uses AI technology to automate time-consuming tasks such as registering product data. According to Jenny, there are no other solutions that are as fully automated.

‘It really has made life easier for us at Olivias Verden. Now we can spend more time with our customers and less time sitting in front of a computer screen’ she says.

– Weavo gives us time to focus on what really matters: our customers, says Jenny Ørjavik in Olivias Verden.

A new way of working at Aandahls

Svein Arild Sættem, owner and managing director of Aandahls, has discovered how technology can transform store operations. Weavo has completely changed how the store is run, with manual tasks now taking minutes rather than hours.

‘It’s almost like magic,’ Svein says. He highlights a delivery from Syversen as an example: 30 different Eton socks that previously would have taken an hour. ‘Now it took just two minutes to register everything and five minutes to double-check that everything was correct – and it was. It’s been a long time since I’ve witnessed such a game-changer,’ he says.

-The future of retail – an investment that pays off

With Weavo, Aandahls has freed time to focus on what really matters: meeting customer needs.

‘We used to spend a lot of time manually registering products. Now, product images, GTIN codes and all the necessary information are automatically in place. It saves us an incredible amount of work,’ Svein explains. He sees a tangible effect in-store: fewer staff need to handle routine tasks, allowing the team to focus on keeping the store in prime condition and providing an even better customer experience.

For Svein, Weavo is more than a practical tool, it’s an investment in the future of retail.
‘We can spend our time selling and creating great customer experiences instead of inputting data,’ he says. He sees significant potential for Weavo’s future development, especially for brands such as Eton and Dovre, as well as for standard items such as shirts, jeans and suits. ‘This is the future for these types of product categories,’ he says. ‘The system provides us an efficient workflow, and we can trust that everything is done correctly.’

Even though Svein is impressed by Weavo’s seamless operation, he emphasises the importance of quality control: ‘you always need to double-check that everything is correct, but as far as I can see, it performs excellently. It’s a real game-changer, especially for us at Texcon.’

-Bridging the gap between supplier and store

Haakon Skavhaug-Flender shares Svein’s vision: ‘We built Weavo to simplify retail operations. Automating time-consuming processes strengthens collaboration between suppliers and stores. Previously, suppliers had to operate blindly, relying on phone calls and visits to understand stock levels and replenishment needs. Those days are coming to an end. With real-time data, suppliers get a full overview of which products are selling and what remains in stock, allowing them to replenish automatically. This ensures that stores never run out of bestsellers,’ he says.

Texcon: We’ve been working towards this for a long time

‘We’ve been waiting years for this. The fashion industry has lacked a digital bridge between supplier and retailer. While other industries have standardised product data – with images, barcodes, country of origin and materials – the fashion industry has lagged behind,’ says Thomas Vethe, managing director of Texcon AS.

‘Texcon has long recognised the need for a solution, and now we have found a provider that can deliver. Weavo can finally fill that gap. We are helping them integrate with suppliers to get the ball rolling, and now things are moving fast. More and more businesses are realising that they need to be data-driven. The first step? A shared data platform for goods with EAN codes,’ says Thomas, ‘which lays the foundation for more efficient collaboration between supplier and retailer. If we increase data quality between members and suppliers, we will sell more products,’ he concludes.
